Our Mission

To develop in students the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a handgun for self-defense.

We are dedicated to the preservation of Second Amendment rights, firearm safety, education, training, and the right of self protection.

Professional Firearms Training, LLC. is a Minnesota approved and recognized training organization for a permit to carry and is listed on the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) website.

Courses We Offer

MN Permit to Carry

Minnesota State Statute 624.714 allows qualified individuals to obtain a permit to carry a  pistol in the state.  Permits are issued by all county sheriffs in Minnesota.  Minnesota residence must apply in person at the county sheriff’s office in which they reside.  Non-Minnesota residents may apply in person at the any MN county sheriff’s office.

Utah Concealed Firearms Firearms Permit

Concealed Firearms permits in the State of Utah are regulated by the Bureau of Criminal Identification. A permit to carry a concealed firearm in the State of Utah may be obtained by completing the instructions, and meeting the requirements as outlined on Form 96-4-02 Application for Concealed Firearm Permit.

Florida Concealed Weapons Permit

The concealed weapon or firearm program is administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Section 790.06 (1), Florida Statutes, defines concealed weapons or firearms as those carried in a manner that conceals them from the ordinary sight of another person. This includes:

electronic weapons or devices

tear gas guns

knives

billies

Iowa Weapons Permit

Chapter 724 of the Iowa Code and Administrative Rules, 661, Chapter 91 contain information on Iowa’s weapon laws and the issuance of weapon permits in Iowa.

SF2379 was enacted during the 2010 legislative session and signed by Governor Culver to become Iowa law on January 1, 2011. It makes significant changes to Iowa Code Ch. 724. Frequently asked questions regarding SF2379 may be viewed here.

APPLICATION FOR ANNUAL PERMIT TO ACQUIRE PISTOLS/REVOLVERS
Form WP3 Rev.2011.1 10/29/2010 (Iowa Residents Only) – For permits to be issued in or after 2011. Applications MUST be filed with the Sheriff of the county of residence.

APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO CARRY WEAPONS
Form WP5 Rev. 2011.1 10/29/2010 – For permits to be issued in or after 2011. Applications MUST be filed with the Sheriff of the county of residence (except applications for a Nonresident Professional Permit and applications for a Professional Permit for a state employee whose need to go armed is employment based, which are filed with the Iowa Department of Public Safety).

Beyond the Carry Permit

This class is for the permit holder who wants more training than what is legally required.  The focus of course is to discover what a permit holder’s training focus should be to avoid and if necessary survive a violent confrontation and the aftermath.

CSAP students will be exposed to three (3) hours of Safety Awareness Information, Tips, Skills and Techniques within an intimate and fun atmosphere. Class sizes will be relatively small allowing your instructor to critique your performance and provide important feedback. Each student will receive:

• Survivor Skills for Smart Living

NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course

This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This course is at least 10-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, two handed and one handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and a course completion certificate.

The NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet and a course completion certificate.

NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course

The NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home Course

NRA PPOTH is both comprehensive and intensive in its approach to equip the defensive shooting candidate with the skills needed to survive serious adversity. The course teaches students the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home. Students have the opportunity to attend this course using a quality strong side hip holster that covers the trigger, or a holster purse. From a review of safe firearms handling and proper mindset to presentation from concealment and multiple shooting positions, this course contains the essential skills and techniques needed to prevail in a life-threatening situation.
